Our Mission

For years, I struggled to find grants, fellowships, and funding opportunities for journalists in one reliable place. Information was scattered across websites, buried in newsletters, or locked behind expensive databases that many journalists couldn’t afford.

Grants for Journalists was created to change that. By bringing opportunities together in one searchable, user-friendly database, this tool makes funding more accessible and transparent for everyone — not just those with insider networks or large subscription budgets.

This platform is built for journalists, by a longtime journalist who understands how hard the work can be — and how even modest support can make a meaningful difference.
