Law & Justice Journalism Project Fellowship

The LJJP Fellowship supports early-career journalists looking to strengthen their coverage of crime, courts, policing, public safety, public health, and criminal justice. The program is open to journalists working in — or reporting on — Pennsylvania, and is designed to enhance your existing work, not add to it.

What the fellowship includes:

  • Mentorship — One-on-one pairing with an experienced journalist to help with pitches, story development, sourcing, records requests, and more
  • Training — Quarterly/monthly workshops on topics like data journalism, FOIA requests, and narrative storytelling
  • Networking — Connections with journalists and subject matter experts

Who can apply: Reporters, editors, photographers, producers, and freelancers with 1–5 years of experience and a strong interest in criminal and legal coverage. Pennsylvania focus required.

Fellowship term: April 20, 2026 – April 20, 2027

Time commitment: ~4–6 hours per month
