Journalist-in-Residence Fellowship in Cologne, Germany

The Journalist in Residence Fellowship is an opportunity for journalists to spend between six weeks and three months at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. The MPIfG’s aim with the program is to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between the social sciences and society and encourage coverage of sociopolitical issues in the press and media. The Fellowship is expressly intended to promote independent journalism. There is no expectation that the participating journalists will report on the Institute’s research activities.

Journalists, including freelancers, who regularly cover academic topics or political, social, or economic issues may apply. If you wish to apply for the Fellowship, you should have a strong desire to immerse yourself in your chosen project in dialogue with the researchers at the Institute.
