The Points North Institute describes itself as a launching pad for the next generation of nonfiction storytellers.

It has a number of programs to support documentary filmmakers, from its flagship program where filmmakers work with mentors to develop their feature doc pitches to its North Star Fellowship, where interdisciplinary artists from historically marginalized backgrounds have the opportunity to discuss and develop the future of nonfiction storytelling practice.
