Story Grants to Support In-depth Reporting on Climate Change and the Private Sector in Indonesia
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network’s (EJN) Business and Climate and Media Initiative (BCMI) aims to increase the quality and quantity of reporting on the private sector’s contribution to climate change as well as its potential to support mitigation and adaptation measures, and finance innovate solutions.
EJN will offer up to 10 story grants of up to 1,800 EUR to selected journalists to produce reports on climate change and the private sector. In addition to funding, selected fellows will receive support from experienced mentors through the story production process.
They welcome pitches for stories that focus on:
- Alternative climate financing models , including blended finance and green and sustainability bonds
- Carbon trading including blue and green carbon markets
- Examples of greenwashing within the private sector
- The efficacy and challenges of ESG frameworks
- The impact of extractive industries and alternatives to mining
- New business opportunities from key sectors (agriculture, waste management, shipping, transport)
- Innovative and locally led solutions to climate change by the private sector
- The potential and challenges of rare earth materials, renewable energy and clean mobility
