This scholarship is intended to support a female photographer in the creation of a photojournalism project. It is open to professional female photojournalists, with no restrictions on age or nationality.

The grant will be awarded in September 2026 during one of the screening evenings at the Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan festival. The supported project must be completed within one year so that it can be presented at the 2027 edition of the festival.

Since 2001, Canon and Visa pour l’Image have awarded the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant to an outstanding photographer in recognition of their contribution to photojournalism. Applicants must be female and must be professional photojournalists who can write and speak in English or French.
